Tour Itinerary

Our professional guide and driver will pick you up at your hotel at 9:30. Our first stop is the magnificent Kaymaklı Underground City. It is the first and most popular underground city of Cappadocia. Carved underground, this complex has been used by locals for hundreds of years to hide from Romans, Persians and Arabs. After leaving Kaymaklı, we will head south towards the magnificent green Ihlara Valley. Stopping for lunch at a restaurant by the river in Belisırma village, we walk for about 1 hour next to the Melendiz River, which winds through the Ihlara pass. After lunch, we continue to Selime Monastery. The largest rock-cut monastery in Cappadocia, with its great cave cathedral and breathtaking view of the region. On the way back to Göreme, we stop at the magnificent view point overlooking Güvercinlik Valley. Our final stop will be at a local onyx factory to see a demonstration on onyx carving and shaping.
